We are proud to announce that with your help, $500.62 was raised for an important cause. Proceeds will go towards family household needs and expenses as one-year-old sister Joslyn fights for her life from a house fire and the loss of six-year-old brother Mason from a rare brain cancer. Thank you to all that donated and helped arrange this special event.
Don't forget to vote next Tuesday!
We remind local families to show up to the voting booths on Tuesday, February 27 to vote for a renewal on the current School Resource Officer millage!
Without the renewal of this millage, we will lose our district's valuable School Liason Officer.
Iron Mountain Public Schools has had a Liaison Officer for over sixteen years and would suffer significantly without this valuable position. Please show up to the polls on February 27 and vote in favor of the renewal. Thank you!
Thank you, Michigan State Police!
Thank you to Trooper Geno Basanese, Trooper Frank Smith, and Sergeant Douglas Cole from the Michigan State Police for visiting Iron Mountain High School Wednesday morning to discuss the physics and math surrounding a traffic accident with our students. The officers had a conversation with the IMHS Physics, AP Calculus, and Advanced Biology students about determining who is at fault in an accident using math and science to find factors such as speed, drag factor, brake usage, and tire condition.
School Liason Officer Matt Opolka reminded the students that what they learn in school can and will be used in the future, in real life situations.
Mrs. Yake's precalculus class had some "feet-on" learning in the Mountaineer wrestling room with a lesson about radians last week.
Thank you to all that attended the Ron Caviani Memorial Concert last night! It was a great show. Job well done!
